Welcome and thanks for visiting the Three Of Kind Website!! Let's start with member history:
Richard Wood (aka. Woody) began playing music in the 60's with a group named "The Jesters", a typical high school band, gigging at school dance and parties. They still get together ,occassionally, for reunions! As he matured, he became known as "WOODY", and dominated the ski lodges of N.H. for over 20 years, doing his "solo" act, where he honed his own unique style and a huge list of can't-miss-songs. One of his best memories is partying with, none other than, WILLIE NELSON! (not bad) Jimi McGee and Ron Taddeo began performing about the same time as Woody. Jimi played drums with his brother and sister-in-law, in a band called "THE BUGS". They were the premier local band of the 60's to early 70's, appearing on TV and on stage with some recording artists like, PETER AND GORDON. they also had a #1 song on the local billboard charts. Ron also played with high school friends, and appeared on stage with artists like THE KINGSMEN, LITTLE PEGGY MARSH. He continued to gig throughout his college years in Milwaukee and when he returned to Natick, formed a 9 pcs showband, and began to play full-time in the Boston-Cape Cod area. Somehow, Ron got to audition for the "BUGS", and against Jimi's wishes, was hired! The Bugs continued for another dozen years playing up to 50 wks a year! Jimi and Ron broke away ,and reformed as the SUMMERSTREET BAND and continued playing in the metro-west area for another 20+ years. As they say "timing is everything", Woody was tiring of the solo act, and SSB had lost their standout guitarist. Luckily , these three talented musicians got together to form THREE OF A KIND (t.o.a.k.) This newly formed trio is a blend of both genres. They have learned, over time, that it's not how good you play a song (they do that anyway)-it's how good is the song you play!!! Their music is upbeat and fun with lots of audience inter-action. So far T.O.A.K. has been warmly welcomed and their future appears to be promising. To be continued...
